National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

On December 6, 1989 at Polytechnique Montreal, 14 young women studying mechanical engineering were murdered and more were injured. 33 years later, this tragic massacre is a reminder of the misogyny and violence that women and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community face. Today, we wear white ribbons to honor the victims and remember their names: Geneviève Bergeron; Hélène Colgan; Nathalie Croteau; Barbara Daigneault; Anne-Marie Edward; Maud Haviernick; Barbara Klucznik-Widajewicz; Maryse Laganière; Maryse Leclair; Anne-Marie Lemay; Sonia Pelletier; Michèle Richard; Annie St-Arneault; Annie Turcotte.
